Benton Harbor: Eric Phillips 269-470-0038/926-3079.

  • Emailed report: Benton Harbor Liberation Day results. Organized by Eric Phillips and Jay Statzer, Cures not Wars. The rally started in Union Park at 11am with a rented port a pot and tables set up by Cures not Wars and Michigan Medical Marijuana Association. Jay and Rainbow Guitar Joe played music over the PA system and Jay gave a couple speeches and played some pre-recorded speeches to make the neighborhood aware of what we were about. After the Blossom Time parade and attendant kid duties the community sneaked in a few at a time to check out what a Liberation Day rally is and for patients and their caregivers to get forms and information to use the new cannabis medicine state law. A dozen had gone through the event befor 3:30 and some more after for an estimated participation around 30. No police, no press. One politician.
